Broughton Archipelago, Northern Vancouver Island Region

Broughton Archipelago Park is the largest marine park in British Columbia and is located between the north end of Vancouver Island and the Coast Mountains.

The area contains dozens of undeveloped islands and inlets and is a favourite adventure destination for boaters and kayakers.  The Broughton Archipelago also features spectacular wildlife viewing.

Each year, from July to October, spectacular orca return to the waters of Northern Vancouver Island.  There are over 260 members of the fish-eating Orca, known as the "Northern Residents". and they are often in the area in pursuit of salmon.

There are several whale watching and ecotourism companies that offer different viewing opportunities and will provide extraordinary experiences.
