Cape Scott Provincial Park is a coastal wilderness area located at the northwestern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The park covers over 22,000 hectares and features more then 115 kilometers of scenic shoreline, including 30 kilometers of spectacular remote beaches. The park offers a variety of hiking opportunities, from easy day hikes to San Josef Bay and the sea stacks, to challenging multi-day treks along the North Coast Trail. The park is also rich in history, as it was the site of several failed colonization attempts by Danish, British and Japanese settlers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Park hosts a variety of wildlife, both on land and in the sea. Some of the animals that live in the park are wolves, black bears, cougars, Roosevelt elk, seals, sea lions, sea otters, and various species of birds. The park protects the habitats and breeding grounds of these animals, as well as the rich biodiversity of the region. Cape Scott Park is a place where visitors can observe and appreciate the natural beauty and diversity of wildlife.
