"Bauza Islets"

 Telegraph Cove

David Farrant Trail (Blinkhorn), Telegraph Cove

Northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia

The David Farrant Trail is a moderate to challenging trail,

which follows the 1912 Telegraph line. David grew up in Telegraph Cove and spent most of his life wandering and exploring the old growth forests that surround the area. In fact, he spent many hours developing this trail so others could enjoy the beauty that he loved. There is a viewpoint approximately 1 km. into the hike that offers spectacular views of Johnstone Strait and the Coastal Mountain range. If you chose to continue along this trail it would bring you to Blinkhorn where there are good opportunities to view passing orca and other marine wildlife.

This painting depicts a little beach situated at approximately the halfway point to Blinkhorn and provides a look across to the Bauza Islets and Johnstone Strait.
