The Coastal Wav​es Fine Art Gallery opened its doors in July 2023. The home gallery is filled with local Northern Vancouver Island art, created by Kathy Harder, and showcases the beauty of the Canadian West Coast region through paint and brushstrokes. Each year, between July and October, spectacular Orca visit the waters of northern Vancouver Island. There are close to 260 members of the fish-eating orcas, known as the “Northern Residents”, and they are often in the area in pursuit of salmon.
There are several whale watching companies in the area that offer different viewing opportunities and that provide extraordinary experiences.
